What is The Coulee Region Race?
The Coulee Region Race is a fun filled adventure. Teams of two solve complete ten challenges, while competing for the first place prize of $3000. The second place team will be awarded $1000. Prizes will be awarded for 3rd-5th places. You will have the adventure of your life while learning more about the La Crosse area.
What do I get?
1. T-shirt
2. Possible prize:
o 1st Place - $3000
o 2nd Place - $1000
o 3rd-5th Places - Prizes
3. Post-race refreshments (fruit, water, etc.)
4. Clue sheet
5. Bib number
What should I wear?
Dress in something that is comfortable and weather appropriate for running/walking. Racers must wear the Coulee Region Race event shirt and their bib number to signify that they are in the race. These items will both come in the race packets.
How much does it cost?
The first 50 (2 person) teams that raise $100 will compete for the grand prize of $3,000. The money is going to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater La Crosse. A fast forward will be awarded to the top 3 teams to raise a minimum of $1000.
Who should checks be made out to?
Checks should be made out to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse.
How can I pledge and support a team?
Support your favorite team by sending in a check made payable to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. To ensure your favorite team is credited, put their name on the memo line of the check and mail it to The La Crosse Radio Group...address...or you may drop your donations off at the La Crosse Radio Group Office:

What is a fast forward?
This is a benefit for the top 3 fundraising teams that earn a minimum of $1000. The team receive a private ride to the challenge of their choice anytime during the event.
I'm registered, but I/my teammate got injured/can't make it. Can I get a refund?
We don't offer any refunds for any reason, but you have the option to transfer your registration to a different person. To switch your registration please e-mail your confirmation number, the name of the teammate(s) being replaced, and the new teammate's name, email address, and t-shirt size to info@couleeregionrace.com. Another option is you can donate your fundraising money to another team.
Where do we meet?
Riverside Park! The race also ends here, so there will be fun events here all day for families and friends to come down and watch!
Can I participate with a group? Can I form alliances?
Absolutely! You must sign up as two-person teams, but feel free to buddy up with other teams if you’re looking to have fun with a group of friends.
What should I bring?
Required:
1. A fun attitude and a sense of humor!

1. Cell phone.
2. Water / snacks.
3. Backpack.
4. GPS.

6. Guidebooks.
7. Laptop.
8. Pen and paper.
Will I have to eat things?
Possibly, but you won’t have to eat large quantities of food or gross food.
Do I have to know my city like a tour guide, or what?
No, but afterwards you might! Think on your feet and you’ll have a shot to win no matter what.
What’s the course? / Where do we go?
There’s no set course. Find your own way. The challenges may be completed in any order.
Can I use the Public transit?
Most Definitely! Expect it to be to your advantage to use public transportation at certain times during the race. This adds a fun strategic element to the race. Only La Crosse MTU buses and marked Onalaska,Holmen, West Salem Public Transit vehicles will be allowed as public transportation.
Can I take a taxi or catch a ride?
No. You may only travel on foot or use public transportation.
How long is the race?
The course is designed so the winners should finish in 3 - 4 hours and the majority in 4 - 5 hours.
The distance of the race depends on the route you take. Think ten miles on your feet, maybe less, maybe more – it’s up to you and depends on the route you choose.
How do we get our t-shirts and race numbers?
Race Packets will be available for pick up on the morning of the race at Riverside Park and will include T-shirt & bib number.
What if I can’t find a checkpoint?
Don’t give up! Keep looking, ask for help, or tell your phone-a-friend to get his/her act together.
Can my cousin / co-worker / grandma be my teammate?
All participants must be 18 years or older and sign the Coulee Region Race Wavier.
How many teams compete in the race?
There is no limit to how many teams we will have this year!
Do I have to sign a waiver to compete in the race?
Yes.
What if it rains?
Rain or shine, the race will go on.
Will I be on TV?
There might be some local coverage!
What if I want to help the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse, but I can’t participate in the race?
You can donate money for the Boys and Girls Club at La Crosse Radio Group or help a team reach their fundraising goals. You can also come take part in the fun at Riverside Park on the day of the race. There will be lots of fun activities for families and friends to participate in.
